Warden Looking to Build Plucky Team of Inmates Around Aaron Hernandez

The warden admitted that he was partially inspired by contemporary cinema on the subject of prison yard football teams.

Leavenworth, KS--Speaking after the former Patriots tight end was sentenced to life without parole, Leavenworth Penitentiary Warden Claude Maye told sources that he was really looking forward to building a prison yard football team around Hernandez.

“Aaron Hernandez is just the tight end Leavenworth needs to put our team on top,” Maye said. “Now I just need to get a team behind him.”

Maye confirmed that he had requested the transfer of a cynical, washed-up quarterback, a witty clown of a wide receiver, and a scary-looking linebacker with a heart of gold to Leavenworth Penitentiary.

“These guys should really fill out the team. Hopefully the transfers will all go through before the start of next season,” Maye told sources.

The warden confirmed that he would be using Leavenworth’s first-round draft pick to select Hernandez.

“Sure, there are a lot of great prospects this year, but nothing like Aaron.” Maye said. “He’s just what we need to finally beat those guys down in Atlanta [State Penitentiary].”
